So with all the #artemis2 excitement tonight, here's a photo of the moon I took through my dreaded Astromaster 114 EQ.
This is at 50x probably similar to the view the crew is having now.
Taken through the eyepiece with pixel 6a

A painting desk covered in telescope parts and assembly instructions.
My 20 years with my company gift has arrived. Thus, my hobby desk has exploded in telescope parts. Yes, I have the old. #Astronony #DailyLife #MiniaturePainting #ChaoticQueer #GeekCrafts
This quasar is surrounded by a cloud containing 140 trillion times more water than all of Earth’s oceans.

This week’s episode is “Night of the Hunter”, a walk through Orion, which you can use as a guide to find your way around the winter sky.
We talk star-hopping, nebulae, stellar nurseries, Betelgeuse’s secrets, and why Orion has mattered to humans for thousands of years.

Orion’s Belt shines across cultures. To some, it’s a hunter. To others, it’s animals or sacred spirits. Same three stars, endless meanings.
When you see Orion in the night sky, do you think of strength, guidance, or mystery? Drop your story below👇

Sharp decrease in incoming #graduate students in #physics & #astronony in the US
Note survey carried out before NSF cuts, so more reductions are likely next year.

Had a few more good nights on WR134. Here's the progress especially with the OIII layer, that's where this object really shines. Left is the first 1hr 30mins I captured. Right is after last night's run, puts it at 6hrs 30mins. The OIII detail is really popping.

Face on spiral galaxy M101
First serious effort with the Seestar S50. 229 minutes of data in 19.72 SQM skies. Even caught 14th magnitude background galaxy NGC 5477. No post processing by me, it's all the Seestar. #astronony #astrophotography #seestar #M101
The worst part?
This #space debris was designed to land on VENUS.
It may not break up on reentry.

Full moon peeking out of pink and gray clouds.
In anticipation of tonight's #lunareclipse a #moonscape from last March. Let's hope for clear skies!

Crab Nebula using #Seestar S50
Had to edit this image quite a bit to rescue it from the cloud cover that showed up part way through. Still not a bad attempt!
2 hour exposure, 45 mins stacked in DeepSkyStacker, cleaned up with Photoshop and Siril

Did we fly too close to the sun, or just close enough? It'll be a couple more days until we find out. #science #astronony
