Made it through a 2 hour dental appointment without too much blood loss, so I am celebrating with this amazing 1860s ad note for Dr. Slayton, Surgeon Dentist of Madison, IN. It has a great dental vignette as well a woman's portrait with smiling teeth. #banknotesandshinplasters

Today's amazing find on #banknotesandshinplasters is a War of 1812 municipal shinplaster from Schenectady with anti-slavery text including: "MAY FREE MEN BE MEN" "AND ALL MEN BE FREE" as well as "NO SLAVERY" along the border. City of Schenectady, NY, $.06 1/4, November 5, 1814.
