🎓 Yesterday our TTPT project manager delivered a Beach Litter Workshop to students at the Uni of Aberdeen
🧩A presenter led approach, with interactive break-out sessions, led to great engagement & some thought provoking discussions about the challenges of #beachlitter along the Grampian coastline

Last Friday in my role as project manager for TTPT i introduced Seashell to Cairnbulg.
After surveying the coastline, together we removed a large trawl net & tangles of fishing line & ropes posing entanglement risks.

We have removed TONNES of #beachlitter from here over the years & still it comes ashore, & yet wading through it, I came across a hatched critically endangered #FlapperSkate #eggcase !

Environmental Standards Scotland did note that its report was based only on data from the two Central Belt beaches – as well as just 12, four, and three from Northern Ireland, England and Wales respectively. However, some media reports left this information out altogether. Asked about its methodology, and whether the data would truly support the claim that Scotland has the "dirtiest" beaches in the UK, Environmental Standards Scotland conceded to The National that data was insufficient.
