Easter Sunday ringing featured rounds & call changes, little bob, stedman, plain hunt and Grandsire. And managed to escape without being set alight by the brazier, it was quite breezy! #bellringing
What a privilege to call some simple changes on Easter Day, rang some decent PH 7 and then sang in the choir #bellringing
Cheeky Dave ringing up the 2nd
Sarah between Dick and Graham
Storm Dave was causing havoc this morning in the touch of Stedman 5 😆 But we got it round. Ably assisted by the rose between two thorns (or vice versa, whichever way you want to look at it 😉) we also rang plenty of PH7 and touches of PB5 and G5 #bellringing

The clocks may have changed, and we may have been ringing half an hour earlier, prior to the Palm Sunday service, but 9 of us made a good noise. 2 lots of Call Changes, some PH7. Sadly the Stedman 5 was like wading through treacle today, but we eventually got a 120 round #bellringing
Are there any other #bellringing #Morris #Minor owners on here? Especially within an hour or so of Oxford?
A good morning combining #classiccars and #bellringing at Alveston. Classic car meet organised by the vicar, who owns a green #Traveller like mine, bacon butties, and a tower grab on the 6. We only rang rounds and call changes, the bells are quite hard going, but it was an unexpected bonus!
Strap in folks, bellringing report incoming. Helen was strapped up, but still expertly trebled so we could ring some Norwich 6, and she rang Stedman 7 beautifully. Other things rung at Blewbury tonight included PB5, PB6 and PB7, Cambs 6, G7, Cloisters 7 and PH8 #bellringing
Very positive practice night, two touches of Bob Doubles on different bells, Grandsire getting slowly better and good rhythm on the Treble to Bob Minor #bellringing
My first Branch Practice in charge as one of the Ringing Masters. 17 of us had a full-on session ringing R&CC a few times, PB5, PH7 a couple of times, an attempt at PH8, PB7, G7, 2 lots of Stedman 7, and some Norwich 6. Just one short for Cambs 8, but I think we all enjoyed ourselves #bellringing
Our practice not on today so four of us decamped to a neighbouring tower who were very welcoming and we all got chances to ring plain Hunt, call changes and Bob Doubles #bellringing
Moved our practice to tonight as event in church tomorrow. Only 6 of us made the effort but it was worth it. Richard got extended support in practicing exercises to help him learn to dodge. We're going to try Funny Bob after Holy Week. Dick Peters also practiced G5 on different bells #bellringing 🔔
Sunday morning ringing was Stedman, plain hunt, Bristol, Cambridge called round with little bob and rounds and call changes.
Ended up rearranging the furniture in Costa to fit us all in. #bells #bellringing
So glad to have Graham back from his family travels this last week. He enabled us to ring PH7, G5, Cambs 6 and a 120 of Stedman 5 which always makes him smile 😃 #bellringing
Today's Branch AGM was held at Blewbury with ringing earlier at Chilton then Blewbury. Thanks to those who catered, I only managed to catch a pic of cakes after the event 😋 #bellringing
It’s based on this triples method, also cyclic and also rotational symmetry.

The Master of the Company of Ringers at Lincoln Cathedral, Jeremy Wheeldon, has said that it is “a great honour” to have his name added to the wall of the Ringers’ Chapel.

The bugs were abundant this evening at Blewbury and may have put folks off a bit. We attempted PB5, PB6, Cambs 6, G7, Stedman 7, Cloisters 7, LB8 and PH8, all with varying levels of success and precision striking 😳 #bellringing
Had a stab at calling some changes again tonight, not too bad at all #bellringing
Nice to have a chance to ring some methods tonight, bit rusty after a couple of weeks break but onwards to the next attempt #bellringing
Some experts away and no visitors so we tried Little Bob 6 as well as PB6 for something different tonight. Dick Peters did really well in a touch of G5 too. We also rang St Simons and a couple of fun touches of Stedman 5 #bellringing

An evening picture of St Johns in Peterborough. The tower stands in the middle of the end of the church, there are aisles on each side. There are large arched windows all around. Sky is clear and an evening blue.

The band at Peterborough St John's rang a quarter peal on Wyldbore Day, immediately following Family Eucharist. To Celebrate the Lives of Mathew Wyldbore and all former Ringers of St John's.

Wicken church is viewed from the chancel end. A large East window faces us, with a cruciform church layout evident. The tower is at the West end, and emerges above the chancel roof. The whole is form a neatly cut beige stone. The tower has several stages that taper and a parapet. The church is viewed across a raised churchyard, the grass is almost at eyelevel nearest to the photographer. It is neatly trimmed and there are a number of columnar evergreens. The sky is mostly blue, with light, high cloud and puffy white clouds. It feels like a summer evening.
Recent Ringing
A band rang a peal at Wicken. They rang Montgomery Surprise Major.

Not many of us today due to illness or other things but most of us went for coffee afterwards. The logo looks like she's praying for good striking but we did fine. G5 x 2, PB6 x 2 and some Stedman 5 today #bellringing
Guild Committee meeting at Shipton under Wychwood this afternoon. Managed a quick ring beforehand. Mr rang treble for Yorkshire 8 and I rang a lovely touch of Stedman 7 #bellringing
