Had a fantastic time in Brighton this week for #BERA2025 - thanks to @murtaghlisa.bsky.social for the photos of our symposium on teacher professional development 🙌
But most of all, I’m really grateful to everyone who stopped by to give feedback on my poster. I’m excited to take these reflections forward (and ending with a fab quote from Frances Howard!) 💬 #BERA2025 (4/4)
Also loved Thomas Walsh’s talk on Ireland’s primary curriculum redevelopment (20+ years in the making!) and how it foregrounded young people’s voices — resonating with Dominic Wyse’s seminal work on children’s agency in the English curriculum. #BERA2025 (3/4)
Highlights included: Karen Fox + 23 Year 7 students’ phenomenal workshop showcasing a child-centred, collaborative approach. Incredible to learn this was the first time children presented their own research at a national conference on this scale 👏 #BERA2025 (2/4)

A wonderful third day! #BERA2025
Today was presentation day! I was pleased to share my research on The Use of the Likert Scale for Dual Identities in Lifelong Learning as a Catalyst for Meaningful Reflection on Dual Professional Identities in the Academic Identity: Challenges and Networks session.
On the long trek home from #BERA2025 & thought I'd share highlights from the week:
1. Presenting preliminary findings from my review about how the school teens go to & the neighbourhood they live in can influence mental health & wellbeing - bonus, I snuck in references to Harry Potter & Neighbours😊
