Considering 'What If' was something I was taught at #BikeSafe... What if that driver hasn't seen me, for instance. Doesn't make the ride any less fun... Maybe even gives me more chance to enjoy accelerating again, after slowing down to be sure.

'A great loss': FSU community calls for action, mourns death of student bicyclist Jan-Felix Mueller's tragic accident is one of many that's shattered hearts in Tallahassee, and his loved ones fear nothing is ever going to change.

This is heartbreaking and unacceptable.

In 2024, there have been 54 crashes involving bicycles and 163 crashes involving pedestrians in Leon County, according to data from FLHSMV. Of those crashes, 2 bicycle crashes, including Mueller's, and 9 pedestrian crashes have been fatal.
