Anniversary artwork made as a tribute to the Belgian comic franchise Blake and Mortimer (created by Edgar P. Jacobs). Following the heartpounding escapades of the blonde-haired captain of the British MI5, and his scholarly red-bearded scientist for friend, as they enduringly counter against their perennial arch-enemy Colonel Olrik throughout the mid-20th century. This commemorative piece encompasses three of their earliest stories and all those who were relevant to them: from the Secret of the Swordfish, The Mystery of the Great Pyramid, and their most iconc adventure, The Yellow "M". Fun fact: the characters were created by a friend of Hergé, who some of you may know is the man behind Tintin.
One of my very favorite anniversary artworks I crafted earlier this year, a tribute to a niche but incredible Belgian comic series I love entitled 'Blake and Mortimer'.
