In addition, Amazon employees in many locations in the US, Berlin, and other cities will be taking action for labor rights and against Amazon's complicity in the genocide in Gaza: Make Amazon Pay Day. On Black Friday, we as workers, various organizations, and movements are coming together to protest against corporations' complicity in genocide and the exploitation of workers worldwide. This year, we are directing our struggle against another symbol of the destruction of our city: the ugly Amazon Tower near Warschauer Straße. Amazon made $59 billion in profits last year- far more than the $30 to $47 billion that the UN says is needed to end world hunger. This wealth is generated through anti-union and extremely exploitative working conditions, tax avoidance, and the replacement of workers with automation. Amazon is also directly involved in Israel's occupation and genocide of the Palestinians through the Nimbus project. Amazon provides the Israeli state and its military with data infrastructure, storage space, and computing power, including systems for surveillance and Al-controlled targeting in Gaza. Italian dockworkers have shown us the power that workers have when we unite and strike. On November 28, Italy will see its third general strike in two months, organized under pressure from the grassroots unions USB and CUB.
