On a desk in a brightly lit basement, a very old laptop sits on a desk. It’s dark grey with a light grey keyboard. There is an early 2000s Dell tower on the floor in the background. The screen of the old laptop is black and white with a washed out image, as it’s a passive matrix screen. There is a spot of yellow-looking pixels on the left of the screen roughly in the middle, that appears to be gradually spreading. It’s causing two large horizontal lines to spread across the screen. This is gradual and irreversible degradation of the screen.
A closeup of the laptop screen. The light appears more washed out, and the laptop is displaying its normal boot messages, such as the CX486SLC CPU at 33MHz, Bondwell Global Limited, and 640K system RAM passed and 4MB of extended RAM passed. The yellow splotch on the screen is clearer, and has a pixelated look. The two lines stretching horizontally across the screen are also sharper.
Oh NO! Dreaded screen rot has shown up on my #intel486 #bondwell laptop… and there isn’t really anything I could’ve done to prevent it, and nothing I can really do to undo it!
