Some things are obvious from the get-go, like what's going on with her sister. In many ways, I wasn't prepared for the devastation that tears them apart and the way things spiral. There is so much heartbreak in this story. I don't want to give anything away, but I do want to say that you should be prepared for anything when it comes to uncovering the truth about Misty. It is such a bittersweet ending, but Knox and Zara do get a tender HEA. I think this has the best writing of the first three books in the series, a sign that the author continues to grow with every story. It's something I love because it could mean her best work is yet to come, and I'm here for it! I listened to this as part of the 'War Brothers MC' Books 1-3 collection. The narrators are Allan Stone and Phillipa Miller. They are good choices for these two. π§β€οΈπ§ Story: 4 stars Narration: 4 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x H & h = 18, 19, 28/29

I burrow further into his chest like heβs my safety blanket. -- Ava Ava is running from a domestic situation that isn't pretty. She's strong yet fearful. Sadly, her parents' lack of trust and support is expected, but it doesn't make it any easier to witness. I love that she puts herself first instead of considering their crazy notions. I love how she acquires Conan. Even better is her convincing Reaper to let her have him. I love that his biggest concern is her safety and how the dog makes her feel. It's sweet. π« π₯° In other news, not only does she literally clean house, but I love how Ava plays a part in the other cleaning of the house. Sayonara, bitches! I read along the audio book. I do agree that she's too trusting, and her aversion to conflict has me grinding my teeth a time or two. That said, I respect that she does stand up for herself with her parents and Axle. She does surprise me when it comes to intimacy. The way these two take to the sheets is a treat. She doesn't say it, but I guess witnessing Viper's activities gives her some ideas. I'm sticking with this idea. -- Book quote βYou want to make a bet on that? I guarantee I can get into a relationship with her, and Iβll take it one step further and make her fall in love with me.β -- Axle Evans I do like that Axle's careless bet gets him sent to the doghouse. The fact that she doesn't quickly forgive him is a point in her favor. This is a good start to a series that I already know gets better (I started with Demon and am circling back). I read along with the audio book. I like the narrators, Benjamin Sands and Tasha Morgan. They provide a good listening experience. π§ππ§ Story: 4 stars Narration: 3.5 stars Listening Speed: 1.8x H = 30s?; h = early 20s

I love how each couple comes together and where they end. The middle is a little murky for Jake "Axle" Evans, as the inevitable happens, but even he manages to get his shit straight. Bain "Reaper" White has patience in abundance that helps his relationship and the club. And Bomber? Well, Knox "Bomber" Hart's world implodes as truths come out, but the balm to his soul along with his club are by his side. I started this series with Demon and knew I had to go back to the beginning. As the series progresses, the stories get a little darker and more engaging. While reading out of order is fine, I'm glad that I went back, and I look forward to more of this series and from Bianca! π I read along with the audio for most of the collection. I love that different narrator pairings were used for each book, making it easy to binge. The narrators are: Tasha Morgan, Benjamin Sands, Brooklyn Young, Oliver Highpoint, Phillipa Miller, and Allan Stone. They make for a really good listening experience. π§ππ§
