Title: Cowboy Command, Cowboy Justice Association Book 1

Author: Olivia Jaymes

*****Book review*****

>Walking Trouble<

Her woes start almost immediately. Katie Johnson, later known as Presley Abigail Lawson, needs hiding, and Sheriff Seth Reilly is just the person to keep her safe. The mix of animosity and chemistry is entertaining. Even better are his Dominant ways.

-- Book quote
β€œYou displeased me. You asked me to take control then tried to take it back. What should happen, Presley?”

β€œPunishment. A spanking.”
-- Seth Reilly & Presley Lawson

Presley is extremely naΓ―ve. It didn't take me much to figure out the bad guy in all this, but her rose colored glasses are HEAVILY tinted. There are times that it's endearing, but there are also moments when it is quite the opposite. She makes up for it with her playful submission in the bedroom and anywhere else they can muster some semblance of privacy. πŸŒΆπŸ˜‚πŸ”₯

I read along with the audio book. The narrators, Duncan Prescott and Phillipa Miller, are a good combination. The one thing that bothers me is when Phillipa often goes to a higher pitch for Presley's conversational voice. It's too much for my liking. 🎧🩡🎧

Title: Bomber, War Brothers MC

Author: Bianca Lee Ward

*****Book review*****

>Mystery and Reunion<

This starts on Zara Pratt's eighteenth birthday, back when she and Knox "Bomber" Hart are high school sweethearts. Some things are obvious from the get-go, like what's going on with her sister. In many ways, I wasn't prepared for the devastation that tears them apart and the way things spiral.

There is so much heartbreak in this story. I don't want to give anything away, but I do want to say that you should be prepared for anything when it comes to uncovering the truth about Misty. It is such a bittersweet ending, but Knox and Zara do get a tender HEA.

I think this has the best writing of the first three books in the series, a sign that the author continues to grow with every story. It's something I love because it could mean her best work is yet to come, and I'm here for it!

I listened to this as part of the 'War Brothers MC' Books 1-3 collection. The narrators are Allan Stone and Phillipa Miller. They are good choices for these two. 🎧❀️🎧

*****Book review*****

>Sunshine Breaking Through the Clouds<

I wished we had a little more family time with the hawks, as I was weirdly fascinated by it, but even the little bit we got of Jordan (Sunshine) and her family hiking with the predators was interesting. I half expected the birds to find something that would lead to an investigation. I suppose there's still time for that in a future book.

-- Book quote
'He was staring like he wanted to drag me back to his cave and lock me up. Strangely enough, that wasn’t a turn off like it would be with most guys.'
-- Jordan

Gage (Ricochet) Barrett suffers from PTSD. As sad as it was, I liked that we got to see him and all his warts. Of course, he's also a tad possessive and occasionally overbearing, but I didn't mind that part (mostly because he's fictional). πŸ˜‰

Together, I liked how they mostly listened and tried to understand the other's concerns so they could move forward. It's possible that Ricochet needed a bit more patience, but I still loved them as a couple.

I listened to the audio book. The narrators are Phillipa Miller and Michael Norman Johnson. I'm unsure why, but Phillipa wasn't meshing with me this time. I've listened to several books that she's done, and this is the first time I have said this. Michael continued to be exactly what I expected - good and easy to listen to. πŸŽ§πŸ’šπŸŽ§

*****Book review*****

>Love in a Strange Place<

I've been reading this series in order, which I highly recommend, so I knew coming into this that Derek (Riptide, Rip) Score was instantly mesmerized by Sloane Hargrove when the MC stumbled upon The Order in the middle of the desert.

I love Sloane's strength and determination. I love how she works to rise above her circumstances, even without knowing how. He actions are admirable, and I love how she continues to work towards getting those she cares about to safety and keeping them safe and thriving.

-- Book quote
'My whole life I’d been a part of this group. I was born into it. I didn’t intend to die here as well.'
-- Sloane Hargrove

The affections that grow between Rip and Sloane are deep and realistic (and hot), taking several weeks for them to trust one another in any meaningful way, sharing more and more of themselves one little bit at a time. I truly love how organic it is, especially when you consider the circumstances.

I don't want to give anything away, but when the story returns to the clubhouse, I adore how welcoming the men and women are, how they work to be respectful of triggers, and more.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators, Phillipa Miller and Michael Norman Johnson, continue to provide good narration to this sometimes dark and twisted series. 🎧🧑🎧

Title: Priest, Viking's Rampage Motorcycle Club Tucson, Arizona

Author: Cathleen Cole and Frank Jensen

Performed by: Michael Norman Johnson and Phillipa Miller

*****Book review*****

>Missteps and Corrections<

Jenny (Taz) Jacobs and Grant (Priest) Mitchell have history that dates back to the MC's Austin chapter. Even though a few Austin members make cameo appearances, prior reading of that series isn't required.

There are several missteps between them. As it's mostly Priest making them, I love how Jenny stands up to him and gets him to see the err of his ways. He definitely gets in his own way a couple of times, but I like that he recognizes and course corrects, even if it does take him days or months.

He does make up for it in spades when he finally sorts himself out. Oh, and the way that he worships her curves while repenting? Hot as H-E-πŸ’πŸ’ 🌢😍

-- Book quote
'That wild hair was tamed into a ponytail and something inside of me was screaming at me to let it loose. To give it that wild β€˜just fucked’ look.'
-- Priest

There is a plot line that continues from book one in this series, and will continue after this book. You can pick up enough to understand without reading >'Hush',< but my opinion is that reading in order is better. I do love Hush, so take that as you will.

I do love them together, and the story that brings them into each other's orbits this second time around is sweet and scary. A few mysteries are solved, while others spring up. There are definitely dark elements to beware. There is also a lead-in for the next book, and I'm looking forward to Derek and Sloane.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators, Phillipa Miller and Michael Norman Johnson, are wonderful, but I do wish this were duet. I love them for their respective primary characters but hate hearing anyone else try to replace them. πŸŽ§πŸ’šπŸŽ§

>British Snake Charmer<

Oh, I knew Foster "British Stumpet" Craig was funny and entertaining, but getting his story was better than I expected. "Long, thick, and studded all along the underside" and his baby whisper skills give him extra credit. *swoon*

I do feel for Avery "Baby Remie" Remington. And I'm not just talking about her abusive father or he ex putting her down for her writing and reading. She's already had a kid and Foster is the only one to get a taste? Seriously? No woman should go without that from every person who rounds third.

-- Book quote
'I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t thinking. Not in the slightest. After she got out of that damn car, all I could see were her breasts.'
-- Foster Craig

Avery's neighbor, Gloria, is absolutely hilarious! She nearly made me blush. 🀣 The shirts and sweaters she finds are awesome and her take on life is the thing life goals are made of!

This is nearly a 4.5, maybe even a 5, but the third act breakup isn't something that I wanted on my dance card today. Even though it's how every book in this series has gone, I didn't think much of it when I picked this up. Once I get to it, well, it honestly annoys me. The line of no return is crossed in my eyes, and I lose interest in the ending. Up to that point, I was loving their story.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Phillipa Miller and James Cortes. The British accent is VERY enjoyable. I like Phillipa, too. 🎧🩡🎧

>A New Chapter<

Since first meeting Davis "Hush" Jenkins while he was taking up temporary residence with the Austin TX chapter, I've wanted his story, his HEA. I also had someone in mind for it. That didn't go as expected, but Jamie "Seek" Simmons turned out even better. ❀️❀️

-- Book quote 1
'My eyes locked with Hush’s and the breath caught in my throat. He really was drop dead gorgeous. Mentally, I berated myself. There wasn’t time to be drooling over a sexy biker.'
-- Seek

I love this new chapter in Hush's life as we move from Austin to Tucson. The transition is made even easier, not that it was hard, with a drop in from a favorite TX couple.

-- Book quote 2
'My dick kicked behind my jeans, because somehow her naturally husky voice had dropped in tone and I imagined that’s how she sounded in bed. My emotions were all over the fucking board and I couldn’t seem to bring myself under control. That almost never happenedβ€”anymore.'
-- Hush

I absolutely LOVE everything about this book: Seek's giant heart and great dogs, Hush's remorse and slow healing, Seek's ability to stand up to pretty much anyone, the mission of the MC, and all the rest. I am beyond curious as to how things work out with the desert drama and look forward to the next book.

Prior reading isn't required (but well worth it if you can). Also as seems to be fairly normal for an MC series, they don't really get an HEA, but they are well on their way.

I read along with the audio book. The narrators are Phillipa Miller and Michael Norman Johnson. Both do really good jobs. Duet narration is the only thing missing.

>Warning Bells and Lucky Coins<

This was an odd combination of dark and sweet, and I loved it! While Mateo Navarro is the head of a Mexican cartel and all that entails, he has a soft spot for exploited women. He keeps it quiet, except when it comes to her.

Aria Vitale is in so far over her head, and I'm here for it. She's naΓ―ve and a bit foolish. Even still, I do admire her fire. She usually knows when to temper her sass, which is a saving grace.

Yes, the darkness sometimes made me squeamish in an ick way, but so much of it was scalding hot. Aye, aye, aye! πŸ”₯πŸ₯΅πŸ”₯ So. Very. Hot!

The twists were pretty obvious, but that didn't impact my enjoyment. They played out well, leaving me satisfied.

I do recommend reading the series in order, especially Nico and Selena's book, as there is overlap that may leave you scratching your head.

I received an author's copy of the audio book. The narrators are Phillipa Miller and Duncan Prescott. I enjoyed them both, but I really wish this was in duet. Duncan has a mild Spanish accent that really set him apart and was noticeably missing when it was Aria's POV.

Knot My Last Omegaverse

I haven't read many Omegaverse books, but that may change after this. The idea of knotting is just so... mmm... appealing. Add hockey to the mix, and it's a recipe for serious hotness!

The first intimate scene in this reverse harem is all about swords that cross. πŸ†βš”οΈπŸ† (eggplant, crossing swords / blades, eggplant) Yes!

I love that Oliver "Oli" Astrauckas and Elijah (Eli, Joker) Jokinson's established, albeit closeted, relationship gets to take center stage before the intimacies expand. I love seeing them together. They are a great team on and off the ice.

Victoria β€œTori” Strauss has a past that includes some baggage with Spencer "Blackjack" Black. I like the bits of drama here and there that it causes. I love that when things turn sideways, Spencer is right there to help in any way he either can or she'll let him.

He's aged like fine wine. And I fucking hate him for it.

As I'm not hooked into the Omegaverse world as much as some, I'm still sorting out some of the nuances, like heat (I get the general gist as I do have pets) and the break she experienced six years prior. The speculative type things are more window dressing to the heart of this story about fluid relationships in an exclusive group that is open to so many possibilities. Reading and listening to the journey they take together and apart was worth every moment of my time. I love what they are building and where they seem to be heading. All I can say is, "Put me in, Coach. I'm ready to play!" πŸ˜‰ (winking emoji) (Possibly foretelling?)

I read along with the audio book. The narrators, Phillipa Miller and James Amherst, are terrific. I love the accents and overall delivery.

The two narrators do have different cadences, which led to me reducing my listening speed a little. It was tough finding the right balance initially. Once I did, I wanted time to stand still so I could focus entirely on them.

I do wish I had known that this was part of a trilogy before I started. I'm not disappointed exactly, but the series is incomplete at the time of this review, so I have to stretch it out. The character development was terrific, and I started to suspect that this wasn't a standalone about halfway through. I do look forward to the next chapter in their budding romance and growing polycule!
