9/ In reality, #gar, #buffalo, & other #native #nongame fishes are de facto sport fishes because they are pursued by anglers and sport #bowfishing. Surely they warrant research & #management funding in addition to sustainably regulated fisheries. #GarWeek...

6/ With no harvest limits on #nongame species like #gar and #buffalo, #bowfishing has the ability to take large numbers of these #native species and they are often wasted, dumped, or buried (not eaten). #GarWeek

5/ Meanwhile, sport #bowfishing, which heavily targets #gar and #buffalo, has expanded greatly in the United States since ~2010... with little attention or management from state...

Also, I've observed a marked jump in the number of product ads for #bowfishing equipment. Curious if the customers will follow to Twitter, as most bowfishing chatter is on facebook (in private groups).
