For training in the Danger room, Magma and Jean have asked to be tied/gagged to chairs in the Danger Room to test endurance without having to use their powers to free themselves by wearing inhibitor necklaces and find out how a human practicing this activity might feel when left to their own devices, especially for Magma who has become less dependent on her power to cope with difficult situations. For Jean, on the other hand, it's a relief not to have to use telepathy or telekinesis for a while, to avoid giving in to the temptation to free herself by cheating. 8 hours later, Magma and Jean's buttocks were starting to ache and Jean had trouble grasping the gadget to warn their partners to stop training. It was a failure, as they didn't succeed in freeing themselves, but this training will provide important data for future methods of freeing themselves with less difficulty.
