The Reserve is so dry and hot this summer that even the Reed Beds aren’t wet enough for our Water Buffaloes 🥺.

So they have staged a takeover of what’s left of the Sand Martin pond to enjoy a lovely cool wallow there 😎🐃🐃🐃💦

They are in the Wader Meadow near our hides, preparing the ground for nesting season. Very soon, lots of lapwings will be laying their eggs in the depressions left by the buffaloes' hooves 🪺
