February 14, 2025. Apparently past me wasn't happy with this one when it came out, i was really excited by how smug the frog looked in the reference but thought it came out bad. In my current eyes, though, it looks great! What a smug looking frogge. Frog description: A smug looking frog looking at the camera with a tilted head while he sits on a branch.
February 15, 2025. I really love how this frog looks, the fleshy bulb on his head is green, as opposed to his blue body, and it looks like he's got a leaf hat! I should've colored this one. Frog description: A frog with a fleshy outcropping on the top of his head that looks very similar to a thick leaf, or perhaps a beret.
February 16, 2025. Caecilians are amphibians! This, is a long frogge, not a snake. Frog description: A Caecilian, a snake-like amphibian with a blunt tapered head and small eyes and rings like an earth worm. It is curled up into a loose pretzel shape.
February 17, 2025. The turtle frog is not a handsome frog, but he is the cute sort of ugly that makes me giddy. What a goofy looking critter. Frog description: A turtle frog, doing his best to look photogenic. He's doing a really good job, sitting up and everything, don't mind that he looks like a live action teenage mutant ninja turtle.
Day 45-48 of my daily drawing challenge! Have you ever heard of a caecilian? because I hadn't until I went looking for new types of amphibians to draw for 'frog' month. I love things that look like snakes but aren't (like legless lizards!)

(A) Island connectivity with sea level change. Present-day emergent land is coloured for cluster membership inferred with DAPC (see B), and islands unsampled in this study are shown in white. Sampling localities are shown by green dots. Elevation (above sea level) is shown by contour lines (200 m spacing). Smaller islands (Ste. Anne and Curieuse) are circled for clarity. The grey shaded area represents exposed land, with the shade of grey in the key indicating metres below current sea level. Bathymetry data from the GEBCO 2024 repository. Inset map shows position of the Seychelles (indicated with a green loop) relative to Africa. Latitude and longitude given in decimal degrees. (B) DAPC of K = 4, with eight PCs and two eigenvalues. (C) Hypogeophis rostratus, photographed by STM.
