CA’s largest ICE detention center quietly reopened and is receiving detainees This is the third privately-operated immigration detention center in Kern County.

#CaliforniaCity sold out the immigrants on the promise of 500 jobs and $2M in tax revenue by #CoreCovic to reopen the site. 300 detainees are currently being held with capacity of about 2500.

We were going to turn the former prison into a vocational and trade college but trumps reelection changed those plans because it’s more profitable as a private detention center.
