Happy #FossilFriday from the #Chasmosaurus at the Australian Museum in Sydney! This ~76my old Canadian dinosaur belongs to the Northern lineage of chasmosaurines - not the Southern branch that would give rise to Triceratops (Guevara et al 2024). This northern group had distinct, "square" frills.

Day 23: #Chasmosaurus for #dinovember 💖✨

A chibi Chasmosaurus. It is mostly orange with a cream belly and spikes, as well as blue markings on the frill, under the eyes, and on each leg near the shoulder and hip. The darker orange markings are giraffe-like and cover the body in random patterns. The pose is jumping, and the expression is happy.
