Fanart of an unusual Chatacabra fought early on in Monster Hunter Stories 3. It is designated as a Feral Monster, monsters that possess abilities they don’t usually have, sport unusual color schemes, and have blue crystals called Blightstones growing on their bodies. Here, the Chatacabra’s hide is more of a yellow-green coloration while its underbelly is more brownish yellow. Its eyes are a bright blue color, matching the Blightstones growing on its back. Its pink, muscular tongue is also poking out of its spiked jaws. Crystal dust is flaking off of the crystals, in addition to a static current representative of the Thunder element this Amphibian now wields. It is using a move called Thunderbug Strike, a Thunder element attack normally utilized by Zinogre where three balls of blue electricity fly off the monster and pummel their target with thunderous force.
The same art of the Feral Chatacabra, now without the Thunderbug Strike attack happening. It arms and legs are now more clearly visible as is the background, taking place in a canyon within Blightstone Woods in Azuria, the starting region of Monster Hunter Stories 3. The grass is a pale green and white, while the stones upon the ground also bear this white coloration. Some strange foliage over the canyon have a similar dark blue, almost green coloration as the grass, perhaps also affected by the Crystal Encroachment
