English subtitles should just give up gendered pronouns for #ChineseDramas. The “ta” is essentially “they/them.” That’d fix so many translation issues where gender remains unknown, or cross dressing when the English speaking audience is confused that the characters know true genders when they don’t.

So I've watched #Romance dramas where people are screaming for the characters to break up already, and while the characters (since this is #Chinesedramas / #Koreandramas) do break up in the end, makes everyone happy, the characters are moving on and have learned something, but are miserable.
