I got to enjoy a #RockHounding day with my lovely & brilliant partner (@333mcggg on X) recently, at the tiny community of #GemHill. We were out there looking mostly for #CommonOpal, but saw plenty of nice #jasper & #agate, as well. I know it isn't a history post, but you'll live!
A rock that I think is made up of common opal and agate. I'll post more pictures of this one in the comments.
A small orange colored agate with a white "eye."
I'm guessing this is chert, which is red with some grey.
An agate with water line banding.
Some of the cooler rocks I added during my last grit change! I'm most pumped for the rock in the first picture, which I think is common opal and agate. We shall seeeeeee!!!!๐๐ฉท๐
