I'm holding some amethyst chunks that spent a LONG time in the tumbler, under several grits and polish. The stones are a deep hue of concord grape purple with some lighter areas. They were very smooth to the touch

Today February 27, 2026 I found this particular Fish Fetish. Hand carved, shaped and polished from ancient, hard metamorphic rock. Marine sedimentary deposits transformed, morphed 😁 under high heat and pressure. I can see little tiny sparkly white bits of calcium carbonate, the remains of the Permian epoch mass extinction I suspect 🤔
Autistic me, OCD to the max about certain things, have found a nice collection of Fish Fetishes over the years, all in this upper Colorado and Gunnison river drainages Being a fly fishing fanatic I walked hundreds of miles of riverbanks and valleys, basins in mountain ranges. Found a lotta really cool rocks and artifacts..
Upper left a small fetish knapped of Chalcedony. The little pink one Knapped of Banded Pink Tourmaline. The Green shaped and polished from Green Serpentine and the little Blue shaped from I dunno what 😜 The big one was knapped, picked, and shaped from Ancient, hard Granite not local to this particular geographic area, but it's highly representative of the Humpback Chub, which is native to this Upper Colorado River drainage only.
