A return to darkwave/post-punk classic Sleep No More (1981), though harmonically more simple. But even Chris Blackwell couldn't sell these sonic shadows and gray fog.

#ComsatAngels. Like another great post-punk Sheffield band much inspired by science fiction. Name taken from a terrific #JGBallard story about a global child genius conspiracy; song about the sadly neglected Nevil Shute post-apocalyptic novel.

Unfortunately, the Comsat Angels from Sheffield were never able to achieve major success, even though they essentially laid the foundation for post-punk in their early years and influenced many subsequent bands such as Editors and Interpol.

The Daily Record: the final album of the Comsat's Polydor trilogy may lack the cohesion of its first two but the best here (Pictures, Not A Word, Now I Know) is, IMHO, on par with anything on those records, while the wondrous What Else?! is the band's greatest ever song 🔥🔥🔥
