#Coronaschool continues to be exhausting but we’re still at it. I wish I had something inspirational to say about it. Just doing the thing, however slowly, is enough right now.
Today in #coronaschool, we cried. Some days are like that.
For #EarthDay2020, we spent part of #coronaschool outside picking up roadside trash on our street. Judging by our haul, people in our town really love @FireballWhisky and @SutterHome.
Another day of #coronaschool in the books. We had a terrific thunderstorm in the afternoon. A snuggled me on the couch because the wind made him nervous (the last storm flattened his swing set, so his reaction was understandable). Onward to tomorrow.
Back from “spring break” and back in #coronaschool! I’m not going to number the days anymore, because honestly what day even is it.
Day 19 of #coronaschool. I knew this was coming but I still swore out loud when I opened the email.
Day 18 of #coronaschool: the battle for multiplication mastery wages on (and on)
On Day 17 of #coronaschool, A built a @TinkerCrate robot that walks. In the afternoon, we went for a walk and I pet a horse named Diamond. #coronastories
Day 16 (Week 4 holy shit) of #coronaschool: today we are celebrating Christmas in April because there are no rules 🎄
Day 15 of #coronaschool ended with some LED fun via @TinkerCrate. A lit up a creeper before he finished assembling the box. Today was a pretty ok day.
Day 14 of #coronaschool: we are definitely falling into a routine here. A’s teacher is holding her video lessons at the same time every day, so we can keep our daily work times pretty consistent. This is a nice change from the chaos that was the first two weeks.
#coronaschool Day 13: can’t let yesterday bother us, gotta keep moving forward.
Day 12 of #coronaschool is full of tears. Two steps forward, one step back.
Day 11 (Week 3) of #coronaschool is ... going really well so far? Like suspiciously well? What is happening ?!?!?
Day 10 and the end of Week 2 of #coronaschool and man, we are limping to the finish line. The novelty is starting to wear off and reality is setting in: this will continue until the end of A’s school year. 2.5 more months of this. And ...
Day 9 of #coronaschool: in an effort to retain some normalcy, A’s class is having Spirit Week remotely. Today is Wacky Hat Day.
Day 8 of #coronaschool: now with science!
Day 7 of #coronaschool: reinforcements have arrived.
Day 6 (Week 2) of #coronaschool: it’s snowing and we messed up A’s schedule and missed his face-to-face math lesson. Off to a great start.
Day 5 of #coronaschool: cats are taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more. Expect them to overthrow us shortly.
Day 4 of #coronaschool. Our town announced its first positive test last night. This morning we read together and wait until it’s time to log into A’s e-classroom.
Day 3 of #coronaschool: class is in session! A is beginning his day with multiplication drills before logging into his e-classroom. He told me he is excited to get back into @khanacademy for more fractions lessons this afternoon. 😁
Day 2 of #coronaschool: started the day with fractions on @khanacademy. Thankful for online resources (and thank you to everyone who has shared with me!). Right now my lesson plan is very math-heavy because that’s easiest for me to implement ...
Ending Day 1 of #coronaschool with a teleconference. A’s teacher is reading them a book they started before the crisis.
Day 1 of #coronaschool: I am not equipped to teach third grade, but here I am. I made a little lesson plan including my son’s Google Classroom assignments, multiplication drills (is this a thing kids still do in 2020?), some reading time, and ...
