Imagine risking everything for your country and then having your name erased from history. To date, three thousand five hundred twenty eight service members have received the Medal of Honor, the United States'highest military award for valor since it's creation in eighteen sixty one. This is Major General Charles C. Rogers, a man who faced death so his soldiers could live in nineteen Sixty eight during the Vietnam War. His base was hit with relentless enemy fire. Did he hide ? No, He grabbed a rifle, fought back and led counterattacks while wounded three times he was hit by enemy fire, but he refused to leave his men. He save WD countless lives and for that he became the first Black officer to receive the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. Facing enormous backlash, the Pentagon removes and then restores webpage honoring the Medal of Honor recipient, Major General Charles C. Rodgers, who was awarded by President Ray Richard Nixon in Nineteen Seventy. This isn't just about Rodgers. If we stay silent, who else will they erase ? Black history is American history. We cannot let them rewrite our past. Drop a like in the comments if you agree and don't forget to follow and share for more Black history facts. Share, believe, inspire blacks, be.
