No, He grabbed a rifle, fought back and led counterattacks while wounded three times he was hit by enemy fire, but he refused to leave his men. He save WD countless lives and for that he became the first Black officer to receive the Medal of Honor in Vietnam. Facing enormous backlash, the Pentagon removes and then restores webpage honoring the Medal of Honor recipient, Major General Charles C.
