Reference for the Big City Greens "Ernest Hope" AU by Sangjwi. Diverges from canon during "Chipocalypse Now", in which Bill, Nancy, Alice, and Tilly are tragically killed by Chip's helicopter, but Cricket remains alive. Ernest Hope - Devastated by grief and the way the tragedy was handled - Fostered by an adult that tries to change everything about him - New name represents his earnest hope that Chip will be held accountable for his actions Cricket Green - Furious that the legal system failed and scared that no one is going to stop Chip from hurting people - Decides to take matters into his own hands and reinvent his identity the way HE wants - Still a sweet, silly, caring kid despite pretending to be edgy - Assisted by Remy - Will get a happy ending! - ...I drew him with shoes because him spending so much time barefoot in the sewers was too gross for me. Chip Whistler - Sent his dad into debt to clear his name, both legally and socially - Thinks he's happy now that he's ruined Cricket's life but has nightmares every night about what he did - Uses work to avoid his internal issues - In his Lex Luthor era
