I know what I am giving up when I am letting opportunities handed from friends pass me by. To re-engage with the humming and crackling life around me. But at this point it's ridiculous to ignore the nature of things, and it makes my hair stand up and my body revolt. It's madness and shrieking hubris and selfishness to rely on only the god given things. To scream at the halogen lights and plunge this snake into my neck. This creates the last straw, not even a leap of faith, that suggests I could have ever stayed connected to the earth without allowing it to swallow me whole anyway. I'm absolutely losing my mind.
