301 Posts, 194 Following, 44 Followers · I write about war and disease … but currently mostly #terrorism and the way the label is used by people who are killing more people than the terrorists. I am a pacifist with narrow exceptions for self defence, and I am still angry that we let the pandemic become a forever problem. I started learning #Yiddish in August 2023, but I haven't got far. I found the language interesting because I already knew a bit of Arabic and more of German. I can read about 6 alphabets and Abjads but I can only usefully communicate in English. I live in one of the healthiest and most peaceful places on Earth (somewhere in the #WesternPacific region) but my country is only the "least bad". We need to be a far less selfish and less greedy nation. We need to shun our current murderous so-called allies, and be a much more generous to our neighbours. Personally I am an atheist, but I believe that religion is usually more beneficial than harmful. I hold religion to the same standards as any other ideology.
