With yesterday’s publication of the #Darzi report it’s a timely reminder that investing in improving people’s health & reducing health inequalities is Mission Critical. A good start for action are Lord Filkin’s 3 reports & yep I was one of the advisors. www.kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-...
Good on ICBs from #Darzi : ‘Some sanity has been restored by the 2022 Act which put integrated care systems on a statutory basis… whose strategy to tackle inequalities, and to improve population health, is set by an [ICP] that includes local government and the third sector alongside the NHS itself’.
On an initial view, the #Darzi review of the #NHS is good. For example, "Nothing that I have found draws into question the principles of a health service that is taxpayer funded, free at the point of use, and based on need not ability to pay".

Pretty bland from RCGP. Read #Darzi yesterday on a long journey. It’s a start, nothing about continuity I could see, could be more about sustainability & green agenda , public health , social care etc. 10 year plan will be proof of actual intentions!

Low resilience impacted elective care. But I’d say that populist slogans - Stay at home, Protect the NHS etc - made a bad situation worse.
