Saw someone saying that you must pay for a deed poll. NOT TRUE! You CAN pay for an 'enrolled' deed poll, but you can also do an 'unenrolled' deed poll yourself, with the form the UK gov website gives you: www.gov.uk/change-name-... #deedpoll

By a convenience of dates, I can today count in exact months how long I've spent in each of three phases of my life:

1. A child, with my birth name: 216 months
2. An adult, still with my birth name: 98 month

We did the enrolled version for our son as he was under 16 at the time, if I remember right the solicitor's clerk (a personal friend) witnessed it, she handled all the details for us. Sorry I can't be more help, hope someone can give you the definitive answers. Best of luck! #DeedPoll
