In some places especially with rammed earth or cob houses, village ponds are a clear sign of extraction. Short runs, since this was heavy! Anyway, doggies loved the pond / clay pit at the time of #deepretrofitting our house with local materials.

A hempcrete house needs a breathable exterior to protect it from the elements. We used a lime render which absorbs 50% of it's CO2 emissions (to make) as it cures.
