I did it! I deleted my Facebook,Messenger and Instagram accounts. I want to stay as far away from Meta as possible.

Deleted my Facebook business page today, which was for my art/illustration/ceramics. Only had about 2.5 followers by the end. I'd had it for many, many years. It was great at one time. Lots of engagement, support, encouragement, praise etc.

Still, onwards and upards.

I have no idea how long this will take, but it says my account goes from February 1, 2005 to January 10, 2025. Almost TWENTY YEARS of Facebook activity!

Honest question: if you have based most of your social connections through the years heavily through IG and FB how do you break away and keep those connections? Close family and friends are easy but I am mourning not being able to see the little life updates and cute cat photos. #deletingfacebook

I did it! Finished #DeletingFacebook just in time for the new year. Time for new things! Ok, now back to cleaning my house...

As I'm going through the process of #DeletingFacebook I'm thinking of it like an old place where I made memories and friends, but it's time to move out, like my college dorm. I kept the friends but moved my stuff out and gave the key back. It feels good. 🗝 #DeleteFacebook #DeleteMeta

So instead of leaving behind a "nub" of an account just to refer folks elsewhere to keep in touch and manage my Blog's page there, I'm #deletingFacebook entirely.

Don't be fooled into what I wasted dozens of hours on. Just delete the whole cursed thing. You're better off without it.
