A fresh blog post just dropped about our new nest box and webcam.
(Someone even described it as having "Scandi sauna vibes"!)

Fascinating and rarely seen view inside the nave roof of #DerbyCathedral today.
Looking up Derby Cathedral tower against a bright blue sky, with a red and a yellow abseil rope running down from the top. POV photo from the abseil.
Two hours dangling on an #abseil rope today.
What a delight to get off and to get some circulation back in my legs.

Text of a risk assessment for installing webcameras on a cathedral tower, in which many 'severity' outcomes were 'Lethal', plus the actions taken to ensure their likeleihood was low.
Just unearthed my 2007 #RiskAssessment for installing webcameras on the side of #DerbyCathedral.
A lot of 'SEVERITY' issues where the outcome was 'LETHAL', but over the last 20 years we do seem to have managed to reduce the risks to zero (so far, anyway)!
#MemorialMonday #JosephWright #DerbyCathedral worth a read. Extraordinary #graveslab #churchcrawling
Hoping to start erecting our new #peregrine falcon nest box tomorrow.
Weather forecast not looking as dry as we thought it was going to be a few days ago.
Might take ear defenders for when the bell ringers go at it in the afternoon.

First steps taken today towards constructing a temporary #peregrine falcon nest box on the tower roof at #DerbyCathedral.
Lots more timber to haul up the 189 spiral staircase over the next week.

An AI modified image of a man (Ben Fogle) in a vile green top, pointing accuratley towards a peregrine falcon nest ledge on Derby Cathedral.
Am I a bad, bad person?
I learned on the news how #Grok can be used to modify any image to whatever I wanted.
So I altered the pic of #BenFogle I took so he's now pointing right at our #peregrine falcon nest platform on #DerbyCathedral.
Should I change the colour of the top he's wearing, too?

Absolutely delighted to see today that our male #peregrine falcon on #DerbyCathedral has found a new partner just seven days after the death of his previous mate!

A large cardboard box and tape measure.
I'm struggling to work out how best to get this thick cardboard box on to the tower roof at #DerbyCathedral.
-Up the narrow spiral staircase?
-Haul it up on a rope from the ground?
-Cut it up into smaller pieces?
-Helicopter?

Today’s the day!
We’re at #DerbyCathedral to judge the first of our #Newgate Cathedral #Volunteer of the Year awards!
Celebrating and giving thanks to those thousands of unsung heroes who make our cathedrals the special places they are.

We've now got our live #PeregrineFalcon webcam feed on public display inside #DerbyCathedral.
Do come and visit us.

Decisions, decisions!
With the polytunnel re-covering now postponed tomorrow, do I still go down to the #allotment, or should I stay at home and prepare my Peregrine Falcon talk to the Friends of #DerbyCathedral on Saturday afternoon?
Decisions, decisions!
