(BuzzReport) — Four individuals were arrested Thursday in DeSoto County, Mississippi, in connection with a food stamp fraud scheme totaling approximately $131,000, District Attorney Matthew Barton announced. The arrests follow investigations into individuals who allegedly misrepresented their financial circumstances to improperly receive government assistance benefits. The arrests were the result of a collaborative investigation involving the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
