Also in the same gardens as the Whitethroats in Seaton were a few Black Redstarts. Nice to see them in trees for a change with this one I think either feeding on the Cordyline seeds or the insects between…. #ukbirding #devonbirding
A trip to Seaton, Devon this morning to catch up with the ‘Siberian’ Lesser Whitethroats. Glad to say they both showed very well at times, thoroughly enjoyed watching them in the gardens. #ukbirding #devonbirding
There are plans afoot...
#DevonBirding
Black Redstarts are still feeding in and around Seafield Gardens, Seaton. Also showing well this morning was a single Whitethroat, possibly the 'potential' Siberian Lesser Whitethroat that has been reported on Birdguides recently. Male Blackcap also in the area. #Devonbirding
Red-breasted Merganser from Cockwood, Devon at the Lesser Crested Tern twitch the other weekend. Male and female both present. #birds #ukbirding #twitching #devonbirding
The Lesser Crested Tern yesterday was hard work for a number of hours, but great views were had towards the end of the day. The longest day trip twitch for me so far… 18 hours out, house to house! #birds #ukbirding #twitching #devonbirding #tern #lessercrestedtern @birdguides.bsky.social

Gavia immer, the Great Northern Diver, at #SlaptonSands on 19/9 - an unexpected sighting just offshore as I was about to leave to start my journey home. A single Sandwich Tern also flew along the tide-line calling.

I just love sifting through wader flocks and for me not much beats a pristine juvenile Curlew Sandpiper.😍Two of 3 birds on tonight’s rising tide on the Otter Estuary NR, Budleigh Salterton.

Cinclus cinclus - first time I have had a chance to snap a Dipper, living in Sussex means this was a rare opportunity but have now seen them in both Devon ‘moors’ - this in Exmoor last week.

Have seen a rock pipit, wheatear, kittiwakes, and a ringed med gull (info pending) whilst in Devon which has been lovely. I'll sort out some pictures when I'm home. #devonbirding #ukbirds
I spent a very enjoyable couple of hours in the sunshine at RSPB Aylesbeare Common this afternoon. Plenty of Linnets, Stonechats, Wren and even Dartford Warblers, but these tended to be elusive. Plus not a single Dog. #DevonBirding
