Hands-on Workshop) ….
I’m proud to share the #DH2024 conference proceedings. This year we’ve chosen to celebrate the poster as a key part of the DH conference. zenodo.org/records/1592... #DH2025 @adho-org.bsky.social
How can one analyse character types of Roman comedy digitally? @umblaetterer.bsky.social , @viktor.im , and I presented an approach to this question at the #DH2024. You may now find our talk on YouTube:

Shoutout to @anneladyem.bsky.social's #DH2024 #DHmakes talk teaching us how needle felting can be both anger-channeling stabby + help teach humanists about data basics! Plus cookie cutters as a newcomer-safe option vs needles. (HT @quinnanya.me)
The wonderful opportunity to visit the Library of Congress at #DH2024 is what gave me the idea to use these datasets for our workshops all week. ❤️
I’ve been participating in @douglassday.bsky.social since 2020 but had no idea the transcriptions were available as csv’s. Great resource.

The #dh2024 public report is almost ready to post! While you're waiting, here's a sneak peek and also a reminder that the #dh2025 call for submissions closes tomorrow, December 8th!
(If you heard me raving about a lighting talk I saw on the first day of #DH2024, this is the one!)
Okay count this novice in! Nice dinner at #DH2024 btw

Ok but really tell us the joys of being in community, constructive critique on things to improve on, just general vibes
Really helps to document & contextualize for future organizers

I brought this up in one of my #DH2024 talks but forgot to post it afterwards. In any case, many years ago I made a GIF about my favorite topic and my team still use it whenever I'm going on and on about how important this is.

What a week! An insightful #DH2024 in Washington, D.C is over. We introduced our project KatKit (@gerstorfer.bsky.social , @julianhaeussler.bsky.social, @evelyngius.bsky.social) with which we want to give food for thought on how category theory can be used for (literary) operationalization.
In case you missed it during #DH2024 - What We Teach When Teach DH recently launched its open-access edition. My piece there on "The Three-Speed Problem in Digital Humanities Pedagogy" talks about pace and difficulty in the DH classroom. dhdebates.gc.cuny.edu/projects/wha...
Cool outcomes: reminded how to knit the bobble stitch, got to evangelize about #DHmakes when ppl asked what I was doing/making, paid more attn to the usefulness of comments (many times comment ≠ bad, at least at #DH2024), made a cozy data gift for a dear DH friend's current & forthcoming kiddos 3/3
The bobbles represent when, in the sessions I was attending, someone had more of a comment than a question. It's an interesting data physicalization experiment because it's not representative of how many Qs out of X were actually comments, but just when I encountered these moments at

Two brightly colored knit hats in green, orange, blue, and white. They are pinned to a blue foam board covered in grid markings. A pincushion shaped like a red tomato full of yellow pins sits nearby.
Doing some #DHmakes blocking today as part of our monthly team hackday. These two hats are the result of my #DH2024 knitting. The larger one was Monday and Tuesday, the smaller was Wednesday and Thursday (I had to give the needles back to @quinnanya.me on Friday. Thanks again for the supplies!) 1/n

ICYMI I blogged my little talk from #DH2024 - "#citepedagogy to Pedagogy-driven Publishing." It was on a roundtable about DH journals. I talked broadly about how JITP tries to do more than just publish pedagogy—we try to build an infrastructure with pedagogy at the core.
