Whenever someone is arrested and fingerprinted, ICE knows. ICE is still arrested people outside courthouses while cases are ongoing, still coming to people's homes after cases start, & still taking people directly from upstate custody because Hochul has refused to sign #NY4All & #DignityNotDetention

I stand corrected. The skeet I quoted refers to 287(g) agreements at the *state* level. It's true, NY does not have a state-level 287(g). But I stand by my criticism of Hochul. If she was serious about protecting our communities in NY, she would have backed #NY4All and #DignityNotDetention ages ago

If Hochul was serious about protecting New Yorkers and not just showboating to get reelected, she would move heaven and earth to get #NY4All and #DignityNotDetention passed NOW
But only until 2029. It's more of a 3-year pause, at which point they can go back to being bounty hunters for ICE. Craven and ridiculous, especially given that bills that provide meaningful protection on 287(g) & detention sites (the other target of her bill) exist in #DignityNotDetention & #NY4All.
Instead of backing #NY4All (banning all cop/jail/prison collaboration with ICE) or #DignityNotDetention (blocking ICE detention facilities in NYS), Hochul is backing a new bill that'd bar 287(g)s & some gov't contracts—BUT ONLY UNTIL TRUMP LEAVES OFFICE. Traaash. www.governor.ny.gov/sites/defaul...
