2 years ago on April 21st I completed a year long journey to prepare my body to give 2/3rds of my liver to my cousin. This was us before the surgery. While I’ll still be politiposting, April is #DonateLife month and I’m going to share our story here.

I warmed up again & could feel how much better my running performance was.
It’s only taken me 6 years of exercising post #hearttransplant to take that whole “you need to warm up” advice seriously. 🙄
Tied my best mile time— better late than never! 🏃♀️💪🏼

Transplanted ❤️s aren’t connected to the central nervous system so when exertion increases the ❤️ doesn’t know to beat faster & relies on adrenaline, which can take 8-12 minutes.
Today I tried something new & shaved 6 secs off my time!
