Transplanted ❤️s aren’t connected to the central nervous system so when exertion increases the ❤️ doesn’t know to beat faster & relies on adrenaline, which can take 8-12 minutes.

Today I tried something new & shaved 6 secs off my time!

Today I shaved 11 seconds off my best first mile time— I haven’t run this fast since Oct 2023, not long post-half-marathon. 🏃‍♀️

Progress makes the pain worth it!

I’m competing in many events at the Denver #TransplantGames this summer & one is shotput.

I have no experience, but I’m learning & so far I’ve improved my distance from 3m to 4.5m!

I need to double that to medal. 🤷🏻‍♀️

But how fun to learn a new sport at my age (59)! 💪🏼

I haven’t run in 8 months due to injury so today for giggles & a baseline time, I ran the same route I did on 7/13/25.

I ran mile 1 faster but struggled on 2&3. In the end, I was only +1:01 over my 2025 time. VICTORY! 💪🏼 🏃‍♀️
