Frame 1: Star Boy is watching Dwyn play Drconic Era, saying, “That templar guy is really whiny.” “He's not that bad,” Dwyn says. “You have to consider his tragic past.” “Still annoying.” Frame 2: Time break. Star Boy is playing Plumber Gokart while Dwyn works on a laptop nearby. “You could take a break and come play with me,” Star Boy suggests. “No, no,” Dwayn says. “I'm getting close to figuring this out. Besides, I have way more experience than you. There's no way you could win.” Frame 3: Time break. Frustrated yellow spikey-haired Dwyn in an explosion. Frame 4: Time break. Star Boy is in bed reading 'Draconic Era, The First 5 Graphic Novels' saying, “Fine, I suppose the whiny templar redeems himself a little in the graphic novels. Still annoying.” Frame 5: Time break. Very frustrated yellow spikey-haired Dwyn in an explosion. Frame 6: Time break. Star Boy is watching 'Incarnation: The Final Shaper of Wind' and singing, “Secret tunnel, secret tunnel!” while from off screen someone yells, “EURUKA!” Frame 7: “What is it?” Star Boy asks, approaching Dwyn celebrating at the chalkboard. “I figured out the problem!” Dwyn says. “Electricity! I've been trying to store your star power as if it were electricity. But it isn't electricity! The solution is lightning!” Frame 8: “...” Star Boy says. “I don't understand.” “The energy you produce is too strong,” Dwyn explains. “It's like when lightning strikes an electrical system. It creates a power surge that can destroy connected electronics, or even the entire system, if it isn't grounded properly.” Frame 9: “Ergo,” Dwyn continues, “with the power you produce, the solution isn't finding a way to contain it, but to discharge the excess!” “Isn't that wasteful?” Star Boy asks. “Oh, there's no need to worry about that,” Dwyn assured him. “This is science! If it proves to be a problem we can solve it another day.”

Frame 1: “Are you okay...?” Dwyn asks with considerable concern as Star Boy peeks out from under the blanket. “Of course!” Star Boy lies. “I mean, the game isn't working very well. I was hoping I could catch a glimpse of the photons before they got excited to see me, but they start dancing too quickly. So, I'm a little sad about that.” Frame 2: Ooookay...” Dwyn says, guiding Star Boy over to the couch and TV. “I think you've been spending too much time alone. I could probably use a night off from inventing, anyway. Come and watch while I play Draconic Era.” Frame 3: “...” Star Boy says, watching Dwyn play a game. “Is that dwarf named...?” “Yes,” Dwyn says. “I don't want to talk about it.” Frame 4: “So, Dwyn...” Star Boy says. “Yes, Sparkles?” “Remember when I suggested that maybe wearing a disguise would let me go out and be around people?” Frame 5: Dwyn sighs, saying, “I already told you it wouldn't work.” “But I-” Star Boy begins, while Dwyn continues over him, “I know you want to go out, see the world, and meet people, but you need to be sensible about this.” Frame 6: “I already-” Star boy tries, but Dwyn cuts him off, saying, “Firstly, you're a star. There's no way anyone could miss that, no matter how good your disguise is.” “What about-” Star Boy tries, but it's no use. “Secondly, even if you could find a way to pass for human, there will always be more observant people who will see through it.” Frame 7: “And you know what happens if you get spotted, right?” Dwyn presses. “Black suits and dark sunglasses,” Star Boy says. “We don't want that, do we?” Dwyn asks. Frame 8: “Of course not!” Star Boy says. “Exactly!” says Dwyn. “I know it's hard, but we have to keep you safe. So I don't want to hear another word about it, okay?” Star Boy gives in, saying, “... Yes, Dwyn...”

Maybe she won't notice it's missing.” Frame 3: Star boy stands by the bed, holding a blanket and saying, “Dwyn was right. I am never leaving this basement again.” Frame 4: That evening... Dwyn's eyes can be seen in a completely dark frame. “I'm home! Sparkles...? I didn't see him outside... Sparkles, where are you!?” Frame 5: “I'm right here,” Star Boy says, peeking out from under a blanket and shedding light everywhere. Frame 6: “What are you doing under there?” Dwyn asks. “Ok, I'm just, uh...” Star Boy says, “Playing with the photons.” Frame 7: “... Playing with photons?” Dwyn asks, confusion written on her face. “Yeah!” Star Boy says with a brittle grin. “Here, I'll show you!” Frame 8: The frame goes dark with a swish. Frame 9: Light fills the frame with another swish as Star Boy peeks out from under the blanket again with an unhinged smile, saying, “Dance, little photons! Dance!”

Time for testing” Dwyn says. “What is it?” Star Boy asks. “First I need to get some new readings to compare to the old ones...” Dwyn says before answering, “In theory, it's something like a battery.” Frame 2: “It should allow be to collect and store some of your star energy so I can experiment with it,” Dwyn says as she works on the laptop. “Hmm... It looks like your readings are the same as before. That means you haven't built up more energy than you had the day we met. So, I try to be efficient with what I have. Some day I hope to live somewhere much bigger – with my own lab, if I can manage it!” Frame 2: Dwyn begins measuring Star Boy. “Alright, let's get your measurements,” she says. “Then I'll see if I can calculate your mass and gravitational force.” Frame 3: “How did you end up falling to Earth, anyway?” Dwyn asks, turning away to write on the chalkboard. “Oh, well, you know,” Star Boy replies. “I saw this pretty blue and green planet, and wanted closer look. You are producing a massive amount of energy, like I would expect a star to, yet it isn't being released in a way that harms the environment around you. I wonder if all stars are like this, or if you're an anomaly.” Frame 2: “We could ask my Cousin Sol,” Star Boy suggests. “Uh, who?” Dwyn asks. “Cousin Sol,” Star Boy explains. “Your sun. He's the closest star to us.” Frame 3: “Are you telling me that you're related to the sun?” Dwyn asks. “Well, no, not really,” Star Boy says, turning from the computer to face Dwyn. “It's more like stars consider ourselves to be distantly related because we were all birthed by the same universe.” “And stars can talk to each other?” Dwyn asks. “Of course we can talk!” Star Boy says. Frame 4: “You're saying you know the sun on a first-name basis?” Dwyn asks thoughtfully. “Well, no,” Star Boy admits. “I've never actually met him. I only know his name from your internet. Stars don't actually have names. We don't have time for them.” Frame 5: “... No time for names,” Dwyn says. “Right,” says Star Boy. “Because ususally we're moving so fast that by the time we finish saying hello we're on the other side of the solar system. Adding a name to that would be a little silly. Especially because we'll probably never see each other again.” Frame 6: “If I'm completely honest,” Star Boy says as Dwyn returns to cleaning up her laptop and diodes, “I don't even know if Cousin Sol identifies as a 'he'. It just seemed the appropriate choice aligning with your society's strange predispositions.” “If star conversations are so short, how can you ask Sol if you're just like other stars?” Dwyn asks. “I was thinking I could have a prolonged conversation if I could get into orbit around him,” Star Boy says. Frame 7: “Huh,” Dwyn says, her laptop now under her arm. “Tha…

Frame 2: “Like calling other people background characters, or referring to a portion of life as a sequence,” Star Boy says. “Or pointedly staring at nothing for no apparent reason.” Frame 3: Star Boy and Dwyn stare blankly at the reader. Frame 4: “No idea what you're talking about,” Dwyn says as the pair returns to playing their game.

Frame 1: Dwyn's eyes are all that is visible in a completely dark frame, saying, “Just wait there for a moment. I know it's bad design, but the light switch is on the other side of the room. Ouch!” Frame 2: Star Boy enters the room, lighting it up. He says, “Are you okay, Dwyn?” Holding her knee with a pained expression, Dwyn replies, “Yeah, I'm fine. It happens all the time.” Frame 3: “Woah!” Dwyn says, surprised as she realises that Star Boy is shedding the light filling the room. “You really brighten up a room. You'll never have to worry about electricity bills.” Frame 4: Dwyn leads Star Boy into her home, saying, “Come over here and I'll introduce you to the internet.” “Who is the Internet?” Star Boy asks. Frame 5: Star Boy is brought to a computer. Dwyn explains, “The internet isn't a who, it's a what. It's kinda like a faerie realm. It's full of strange people to whom you should never give your real name, there's an excess of inexplicable things, and there are parts of it you should avoid at all cost. However, it is also a repository for pretty much all the knowledge in the world, which means you can use it to learn all about Earth and the people here.” Frame 6: Dwyn approaches Star Boy with a pair of electrodes. Star Boy is at the computer saying, “Aww, look at all the kitties!” Dwyn says, “Yes, well, I was hoping you'd find something a bit more educational than pet videos. Don't mind me; I'm just attaching some electrodes to take some readings from you. Frame 7: Dwyn sits on the floor working on a laptop with wires leading to the electrodes on Star Boy, who is grinning at the computer singing, “Badger, badger, badger, badger...” “Like I said, inexplicable,” Dwyn says. “Just like you. A star should be hot enough to melt these electrodes, yet you're more like an ordinary person.” Frame 8: Star Boy stares at Dwyn with an expression best described as mentally scarred. “Dwyn...” he says. “Dwyn, the internet is a bad place.” “Yes,” Dwyn replies. “I did warn you.”

Frame 1: Star Boy, his cheeks stuffed with apples, follows Dwyn, saying, “Are there more apples on this not-so-little green and blue planet?” “We call it Earth,” Dwyn replies. “And yes, we have lots of apples. Many other delicious things, too.” Frame 2: “Maybe being stuck on this “Earth” isn't so bad after all,” Star Boy says. “Don't get me wrong,” Dwyn says. “Not everything here is good. The place is full of horrible people who just want to use you for their own ends, then throw you away once they're done with you.” Frame 3: Star Boy pauses and turns as a sleazy-looking person addresses him. “Excuse me! Did it hurt?” Star Boy replies, “Did what hurt?” The sleazebag continues, “Did it hurt when you fell from the heavens?” Frame 4: The sleazebag looks surprised and confused as Star Boy replies, “... Yes. Quite a lot, actually. Thank you for asking.” Frame 5: Sleazebag wonders, “Why didn't it work...?” as he turns his back to consult a book titled, “101 Pickup Lines That Always Work” Star Boy returns to following Dwyn, who is saying, “Are you coming, Sparkles?” “Yup! I'm right here!” Star Boy replies. Frame 6: Hey, that person wasn't afraid of me!” Star boy says with joy at the realisation. Frame 7: Don't get too excited,” Dwyn warns. Just because someone is willing to talk to you doesn't mean they're nice.” “You're nice,” Star Boy points out. Dwyn replies, “Well, yes, but not everyone is. I've lost count of how many people I thought were friends turned on me or abandoned me once they had what they wanted. You have to be careful who you trust.” Frame 8: Star Boy and Dwyn arrive at a house. Dwyn gestures to an open cellar door with stairs down into a basement saying, “Here we are! Home sweet home.”

It could even be for the sole purpose of setting up future punchlines.” Frame 3: Surrounded by a time-shift border, with a grey background and the title “Later...” we see a sleazy-looking individual talking to star boy, saying, “Did it hurt?” “Did what hurt?” Star Boy replies. “Did it hurt when you fell from the heavens?” the sleazebag asks. You have a lovely planet. Thanks for letting me visit. I must be off.” He then begins to fwoosh away on a rainbow. Should have picked blue.” From off screen, many people are talking. “What was that!?” “Was that a bomb!?” “Was anyone hurt?” “Did anyone else feel the ground shake?” “Aww, man! I dropped my icecream!” “We're under attack!!!” “The end is coming! The end is coming!!!” “Was that a meteor?” “I think you mean a meteorite. A meteor is a meteoroid that vaporises in the atmosphere. If it survives to hit the ground it's a meteorite.” “Shut up, nerd! We just saw a star fall!” “What just happened...?” Frame 2: We see the top point of a star poking out of the crater accompanied by rustling sounds. Frame 3: With more rustling, a little more of the star rises above the edge of the crater. Frame 5: Just enough of the star pokes over the edge of the crater for his eyes to peer out. Frame 6: A crowd of surprised people are staring at the crater. Various muttering can be heard: “Did you see that?” “I think I saw something move.” “Hey buddy, wanna buy a watch?” “What's going on?” Frame 7: The star hops out of the crater with a sproing sound and an awkward smile, saying, “Hello!” Frame 8: The crowd of people turns and runs away, yelling, “Run away! Run away!!!” “AAAAAAAAA!” “A talking star!!!” “I'm too young to die!” “Aliens are invading!” One bespectacled woman in the crows doesn't flee, looking more interested than scared. Star Boy watches from the edge of the crater with a confused and concerned expression, saying, “These creatures are very strange.”
