Sometimes, the best walks are when you hike among the cliffs, and find that someone has been there before you. Leaving their gifts, and sculptures behind, so you know that on this walk, you were not alone.
I call this one The Cats.

Rising above the high altitude plain are the majestic Tetons, nestling the glacial Lake Jenny. One of the best things about Yellowstone, is how it gobbles up the tourists, as these southern, craggy mountains stand alone.

Mendocino, California is an outstanding area, just remote enough to avoid the hustle and bustle, and just close enough to the city by the bay, to make it a day trip. The coastline is to die for.
I call this one Creep.

These from one of my trips to Telluride Colorado. Love that little town. It has grown so much over the years, but keeps it's energy and people power. ;-)

That moment, when you've been walking an overgrown garden, admiring the layout, the choices, the placement of certain types of plants, and then you see it.
I call it Through the Looking Glass.

My first house had a bridge, redwoods, and a wrap around deck. What I didn't know is that there would be frequent visitors, families nearby called the moles and the slugs.
So I created a field of Hosta's to meet with them.

While hiking old farms in Northumberland, I found these spiral stones. My guess, they were used in cultivation, much like limestone, and other rocks and minerals are used to help aerate and better enrich the soil.

Seattle is a city shaped by Native American heritage, Asian culture, and it's known for tech and music influencers.
Through out the city, you can find those connections, roots, and presence. This is a shot in the fall, called Turning Japanese.

I have been fortunate to have traveled around the world, a few times over. One of my favorite places is Telluride Colorado. These are some shots from my routine there...which is to hike in the mornings, and grab a beer in the afternoon.

France is known for it's caves, and for their troglodyte homes. They were used by people for centuries as low-rent, natural dwellings and have seen modern revitalization as vacation rentals and unique homes.

"Interconnectedness can be seen in a garden. A flower doesn’t grow in isolation. It’s permeated by non-flower elements, such as sunlight, soil, water, and air. It cannot exist without these non-flower elements." - Valerie Brown

If you have never been inside historic Italian buildings, you should. Afterward, grab a 3 course meal with your favorite Italian family, and then take a walk down to the piazza to celebrate the evening.

Cattle Point Lighthouse is situated on a point overlooking the Haro Strait. While hiking that part of San Juan Island, I saw bald eagles, harbor seals and sea lions, and a variety of birds flocking in unison to the island sounds.

One of the things we often overlook about Nevada, is that it's a western state with great weather, beautiful mountains, abundant wildlife, and a ton of good off road trails.
