Large bull elk keeping his harem together in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado
I'd say he has his hands full. The rut is well beyond a full-time job. This bull may lose as much as 30% of his body weight during those 6 weeks. He will rarely eat and sleep will be minimal as he keeps the harem together and wards off any other bulls.

The Elk has a huge rack of antlers that, with his head tilted backwards, appears to be about 2/3rds the length of his body.
