Twice last night we took in someone who wanted to by pass the waiting room for a non-emergency care. (Rash between the toes, feeling sick for two days)
Both went right to the waiting room.
One left, called 911 to be taken to a different hospital #EMSlife

Asked the parent why the kid was not in the car seat: “if I knew I was going to be in an accident I would have”.
In #EMSlife you seldom know the outcome of the patients you take to the hospital.
Thursday night we were informed the person we worked after a drowning on the 4th of July walked out of the hospital.
In 27 years, I’ve only found out the positive outcomes in 7 cases where we did cpr.

Almost had two but we stopped the friends from catching the snake.

Last night we worked extra hard. 1,400 feet of 5 inch, relay pumping, and almost 1 million gallons putting out the remains of shredded cars. And we still covered two medical calls by breaking free two people from the fire.

Just returned from a call, I don’t thing they teach defensive driving any more.
But the offensive driving course seems to be going strong.
Yeah the big red truck with flashing lights and siren means pull right. Not pull left and slam on the breaks.

Rural, farmer gets run over by tractor, fractured femur, finished chores, can’t work the clutch, apologizes for calling
SU, adult drops object on foot. It hurts with no visual injury can hold weight, insists we carry down stairs and pack a bag for them.

Guess which was upset we took four minutes to arrive from when they called?
(And annoyed they went right to the waiting room.)
