A variety of trees on a hillside in Italy. This area experienced huge wildfires in 2021. We followed well marked trails for all of it. Many sections were lined with ‘cobbles’ connecting once cultivated terraces and small stone dwellings, ruins.
A peat bog edge on a hillside in Ireland. Much of this hike was across boggy areas, we took advantage of the dry spell, because the difference underfoot with a day of rain before would’ve made so much of this a total swamp. We followed sheep trails or bushwhacked for all of it.
Spot the difference.
A wooded hillside.
A peat bog.
Again, both at about the same altitude.
