Erebus exchanges a hollow stare with Fandaniel. Any trace of his usual demeanor is hidden deeply.

Fandaniel begins to turn away, a dismissive smirk playing on his lips.

Erebus saves a stony look for his once-lover as the Ascian begins his approach to Zodiark's seal.

F: "What? No further words? Then I'm off, "darling". Feel free to watch the show unfold."

F: "Or, if you're so inclined, try and stop me."

F: "Unless you'd rather let Nyx - or what's left of her - shoulder your burden."

As Erebus looks down, struggling to regain his composure, Hermes (?) gives him a reassuring look.

At first ignored, Erebus tightens his grip on Fandaniel's arm. The action grabs Fandaniel's attention, and he glances down in annoyance.

Disappointed by Erebus's unexpected display of emotional fortitude, Fandaniel pushes Erebus's hand away.

H: "Oh? Then by all means, tell me."

E: "No, pay no heed to me. I would have told Hermes, but not -you-, Fandaniel."

F: "And here I thought I'd win over your desperate heart once more. If there's nothing else, at least stay out of my way with your meddling ignorance."

Hermes (?) extends his hand to Erebus. His greeting recites memorized platitudes, but already rings hollow to the other Ancient.

Erebus's normally confident and assured demeanor slips - allowing Fandaniel to see the raw longing in his eyes.

Lingering a moment, Erebus looks down. A short sigh escapes from him. (Unseen, his hand reaches out and holds Hermes's arm tenderly).
