Three-photo composit of brown and rust butterflies native to the southern US states and countries that border the Gulf of Mexico. They have large white spots on the bottom of their hind wings.

Spotted three different gulf fritillaries in our town this last week (pics of two of them). I'd only seen one in our area a couple of years ago. Their territory tends to be south of here, but wondering if they are ranging north with warmer climate.
