(Ich sandte sie handschriftlich ab, um keine Aufmerksamkeit auf meine Schreibmaschine zu lenken.) Zur Sprache: Im vorgedruckten Haftbefehl ist »Das Polizeipräsidium« ersetzt durch »Der Polizeipräsident«. Ebenso: » ... wird daher gegen Sie ... festgesetzt« durch: » ... setze ich daher gegen Sie fest«. Führerprinzip!
Diary entry of March 24, 1941 I have so much accustomed myself to the idea of imprisonment that it no longer disturbs me in my work and I see the matter in an almost humorous way. Besides there is still a degree of hope. I went to police headquarters to inquire. Courteous response: I was advised to make a plea in writing. (I sent it off handwritten, so as not to draw attention to my typewriter.) On language: On the printed arrest warrant "Police Headquarters" has been replaced by "The Chief of Police." Likewise: " ... you will be ... sentenced by: ... I order you to be imprisoned." Leadership principle!
