I made changes lol

Not because I wanted to, but because Blender 5.0 did something that made the alpha channels screwy. But it's done! Cinta has her pretty sword in the forest glittering with magic :3

Sila's was more dynamic but I really like this 💜

I don't want to make any more changes o.o

Not ready for the final render; I'm going back to full resolution in Cycles which takes 10-12 minutes/frame to render. 720 frames x 12 minutes = 6 days. I need to replace my iPad first. I miss ProCreate ;-;

Discovery: my new puter doesn't choke and die when I try to render with EEVEE :D

I hid the environment bc even EEVEE takes a few minutes to render and I wanted to get a test out ASAP. Still got work to do, but it'll go by faster now :3

Anyway I want to keep poking around in the shader network for the ribbons so I can get shorter visible segments. Some of them are getting way longer than I want. Or overlapping. Or both.

Back to making progress on this baby! Tweaked the magic ribbons and grass distribution, added camera movement, and now I'm working on making those vines around the sword look how I want them to :3

To prep for the imminent arrival of my new 'puter (next payday + shipping), I rendered out Cinta's sword at full size and the default 4096 samples.

Y'all.

It took over eight and a half hours.

Can't wait to see how fast the new machine does it! :D

Now I just need a computer that won't need to run 24 hours a day for over a week to render this at a decent resolution :P

Friday I find out if I can finance my new computer or if I have to wait until I can pay 100% out of pocket!

Almost done! One more test render, and unless something needs fixing, this should be the last scene tweak I can do with this computer. Those results will be up on Wednesday :)

I done goofed and set the maximum render time per frame as 2.5 seconds instead of minutes, and, uh, it's bad. Like, yikes bad 😬 I won't subject y'all to that.

The good news is, I think I fixed the rocks-clipping-through-trees problem! :D

Invisible progress! lol

I doubled the number of Break rock shapes and adjusted the animation so they hopefully clip through fewer trees. I can't really test that without rendering all 720 frames out, on account of my ancient computer is so old :P

Progress! The transparency isn't animating how I want it to, but that's okay. I've poked a whole bunch of things while going "oooooh what does THIS button do?! :D" and I *think* I've got it figured out!

Animation test! Looking good so far, I've spent the last 7 and a half hours finagling with effects, and I'll be setting the whole 30 seconds to render as soon as I hit post :) Those will be ready on Monday assuming Blender doesn't crash!

The trees still aren't moving as much as I would like them to, but! I'm gonna not worry about it, and move on to Frankensteining several Blender tutorials into one thing to make a rough approximation of Cinta's magic :)

Wind animation test on the trees done! It's too subtle for what I wanted, so I made some tweaks. Also to the grasses/flowers. Gonna render it, then when I'm happy with that I'll try to figure out how to make Cinta's magic around the sword :)
