Working on something cool, to be shown off at the next FediForum.
Actually, before that. But we'll discuss it at #FediForum.
And not just cool, but useful for the community! We hope :-)

Lots of things are unsettled. At least publicly. I hope @toni.bsky.team is going to provide some clarity for the ecosystem soon. (BTW, as I said to @rose.bsky.team a while ago, we have an open invitation to the Bsky leadership team to come to #FediForum and lay it all out if they are interested)

We are again asking people at registration time what they want to discuss about the open social web at the next #FediForum. But this time, we are distinguishing between sessions they want to lead, and things they want to learn. The differences are interesting already! […]

#FediForum2026 is coming up in April, 28th - 30th. If you don't know what #FediForum is, it's an online #unconference where we all get together, talk about what projects folks are working on, meet each other, etc. I've been to two of them last year and I've met so many fantastic folks there […]
This week's kind leader in our series is @j12t of @fediforum who shares why Elon Musk is wrong about empathy being the problem, how he learned to be excited about feedback, and the importance of creating psychological safety as a leader.
Watch it or read the key takeaways on our website […]
Reflecting on yesterday's #fediforum, which I'll blog about this weekend.
A common claim was "we've built everything _we_ need, now we need to talk to others and build for them."
If that's true, why was the event hosted on a closed platform? And used two different closed platforms for note-taking?
Great to catch up with #fediforum activity today - work meetings kept me away but love the good faith discussions spinning off of it in my feed…
A year-ish ago, I tried to get the owners of MySpace.com to sell it to me, as the site was not functional and had been a dead assets for years.
I mentioned this at #FediForum today, but then saw that MySpace is now part of the People / Entertainment Weekly Network.
So it's functional again […]
ICYMI, @fediforum.org's Growing the Open Social Web unworkshop took place today. Catch up on everything that happened via @timothychambers.net's #FediForum #SurfFeed, which he published to @bsky.app.

Appreciated all the thoughtful discussions at today's #Fediforum workshop "Growing the Open Social Web". Thank you @mmasnick & @j12t for facilitating.
'Users' = people = pluriformity
Broad statements about 'users' are questionable at least. Especially when talking about what they do & do not care about.
I'd would refrain from using the word 'user'.
Let's strive to specify people in more humane terms, listen to them & engage in a dialogue […]
@julian I offer #fediforum to host a #badgefed instance for free :)
@j12t
I've been so busy preparing for FediMTL the past two weeks that I totally forgot to actually register for the FediForum unworkshop!
Oops! :sweat_smile: I look forward to reading the discussions that ensue from it though.
Attending the 'Growing the Open Social Web' online get-together by @fediforum.
Always nice to have the chance to talk with people (👋 @benpate) on the possibilities of the 'Open Social' web and learn from each other.

😭😭 😭 😭 😭 I am going to miss #fediforum workshop today, and yesterday I was signing up for the #Fediforum on April and I just got notification from work that I need to travel that week to Boston. 😭 😭 😭 😭
On the #Fediforum #GrowingTheOpenSocialWeb #unconference right now. And the diversity, the experiences in just the first 30 minutes is incredible. We have so many folks from all types of different backgrounds learning and SHARING with everyone else.
This is absolutely incredible being on this […]
Just in time for @fediforum, this week's kind leader is @j12t talking about what leadership means to him and how kindness shows up at FediForum.

I'm looking forward to the #Fediforum "Growing the Open Social Web" workshop on Monday.
I'm extremely dubious about a lot of the submissions. There are a lot of untested hypotheses in this list:

I hope that people's expectations […]

Attempting to select which of the submitted position statements should be briefly presented at our upcoming un-workshop on the Growing the Open Social Web.
There is so much good stuff there! But time is limited, and we can only feature a fraction. This is hard!!

We received about forty submissions for the upcoming #FediForum unworkshop on "Growing the Open Social Web" by Monday's deadline. That means submissions from about half of the people who have registered so far, and should make for a great conversation!
Happy reading! […]
