Studies at the Academy of Education and the Arts in Hellongjiang Province, Harbin, studies of sculpture with Christa Biederbick, University of Mainz Graduate of the Kunsthochschule Berlin, Weißensee Study of sculpture and design, University of the Arts, Berlin, master student with Prof. Wolfgang, Petrick Training at the Kunsthochschule Burg Giebichenstein, Halle an der Saale in sculpture and jewellery design Feng lu lives and works in Berlin. Since 2001, the artist has shown his works in numerous solo and group exhibitions and is represented at major art fairs, such as Art Basel Miami Beach or ART.FAIR, Cologne. Feng Lu does not tell stories in his sculptures, but connects fragments of situations, memories and world events to a critical look at society and man. He hardly omits a social question. His characters process themes such as power and money, again and again religions and of course interpersonal relationships, especially between men and women. He takes human action into the distorted mirror of his bitterly evil irony. Funny and colourful, playful and frivolous, his figurative sculptures come across in artisanal perfection. All are made of epoxy resin and painted meticulously and in detail in oil paint. Despite all z. T. surreal composition of his sculptures, despite all the grotesque in his assemblages, his animal, human and half-beings always have his own poetics, which makes them appear frighteningly alive, the closer you get to them Unexcited in his bizarre sculptures he refers to the parallels of social and individual action and unmasks man in a humourous and empathetic way as a drive-driven being. 93047 PHONE: 0041/57856
