I had a thought the other day when I realized Alma was my only canon heroine whose mother wasn’t dead. I HC that Hydaria Aeducan was killed by “traditionalists” dwarves who want nothing to do with Kal-Sharok and surface dwarves. Two groups she was verbal about supporting/reconnecting with. BUT WHAT IF with the help of her sister (Alma’s mother) she faked her death tying into what I once created for Lisbeth; her companion/loyalty quest. Originally it was to retrieve her mother’s enchanted dagger from the Legion of the Dead checkpoint that’d been overrun by darkspawn (no one survived) but what if she finds some inconsistencies thus creating doubt that it was a horde that attacked.
Fast forward and after putting Bhelen on the throne and reconnecting with their cousin Alma, Lisbeth revisits those inconsistencies and slowly begins to ask the right questions to the right people. Eventually (with the help of Shale and Sigrun) she finds proof her mother is alive! Cue a journey North (where she is almost KIA) but is rescued by an outpost of Kal-Sharok dwarves AND ONE OF THEM IS HER MOTHER
Not that my muse has returned from war or anything, but I had a fantastic idea the other day and can’t wait to flesh it out!
